Mainstreet Façade Restoration Program
Lithgow City Council provides an incentive under its Mainstreet Façade Restoration Program targeting building owners and/or business operators to assist in the upgrade of building facades at nominated locations within Lithgow town centre and the Wallerawang and Portland Village centres.
Up to $2,500 including GST in matching funds may be available to complying building owners and/or business operators. Follow the link to find out more details.
Lithgow City Council has developed an online resource to support the emerging creative economic sector in Lithgow. Called the Lithgow Creatives the webpage functions as a free online directory for promoting, networking, and resourcing creative industry practitioners across the Lithgow LGA.
The webpage provides an online directory, a changing virtual gallery space, and industry news. This is the “go to” resource for finding Lithgow creative specialising in advertising and marketing, design and visual arts, films, TV and radio, museums and galleries, music and performing arts, publishing, software and interactive content
Shop Local Events
Lithgow City Council works closely with the Lithgow District Chamber of Commerce as well as individual retail and service traders to develop and implement successful shop local initiatives. Over the past several years these initiatives have aimed to increase awareness in both local and regional communities about the diversity of the local retail and service offer within Lithgow town centre.

2015 Lithglo Queen Elizabeth Park Night Markets
Working with a private sector market organiser Council showcased scores of local and regional food and beverage, artisans and makers at a night market held in Lithgow’s Queen Elizabeth Park. The very successful event drew thousands of visitors to the market stalls and shops across the Lithgow town centre resulting in extensive pre - Christmas sales

2015 Halloween Event
Council facilitated the closure of Main St to deliver this major economic and tourism event in the heart of the Lithgow town centre. Businesses participated by creating themed window displays, offering trick or treat, creating specially themed Halloween restaurant and café menus, as well as costuming and entertainment. This was supported by Councils delivery of street wide light shows, stage and roving themed entertainment. Crowd attendance was estimated to be 25,000.

2016 Mother’s Day Promotion
Building on the very successful 2015 Street of Flowers promotion, Council partnered with the Lithgow District Chamber of Commerce to deliver the promotion in May 2016. Promotional elements included installation of flowery public art, flower themed visual merchandising and shop window displays, individual shop promotions and specials and a shop local media advertising campaign

Business Development Training Programs
Lithgow City Council works closely with the Lithgow District Chamber of Commerce as well as individual traders and services providers across the Lithgow LGA to develop and implement programs of business development training.
Previous programs have included access to highly regarded industry professionals to deliver training in Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Social Media and Business Development.

Lithgow City Council has developed the Lithgow App for mobile devices that provides a unique cost effective way to showcase and promote local businesses. The App enables businesses to be listed under various categories, display a short description of business services with iconic image, and provide contact details including links to the business web and facebook page.
